Student Spotlight - Scott Papper

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

Scott Papper was the first student to achieve his Certified Master Appraiser designation through the online Appraisal Studies Course!

Scott is a fourth generation estate jewelry and diamond buyer, whose family business was founded in 1915. In 2010, he enrolled in GIA’s Diamond Essentials course and hasn’t looked back since. Scott is a GIA Applied Jewelry Professional and has over ten years of full-time experience buying estate jewelry, diamonds, colored gemstones, pearls, coins, watches, and other items of value.

After becoming a GIA Graduate Gemologist, Scott opened up his own independent appraisal company, Global Gemology & Appraisals. In 2018, he became a Member of NAJA and began taking the Appraisal Studies Course as soon as it went live on the online platform. He also became a published author, releasing "The Art of Gemology" in hardcover and digital format.

In 2020, Scott became the first Certified Master Appraiser (CMA) to graduate from the online course!

I’m so thankful for all of the information that was available to me in this course. It has REALLY upped my game.
