Student Spotlight: Jennifer Johnson

NAJA is proud to highlight current student and Certified Member Jennifer Johnson. 

Jennifer is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and Accredited Jewelry Professional, an Accredited Senior Gemologist through the Accredited Gemologists Association, and is a former AGS Certified Gemologist and Registered Jeweler.  She is also a member of the Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers (AIJV).

After ten years with Northwest Gemological Laboratory and Northwest Gemological Institute in Bellevue Washington, ending as Director of Laboratory Operations, she has been the owner of Northwest Gemological Services since 2021.

Jennifer earned her Certified Member credential earlier this year.  She will soon be embarking on the second part of the Appraisal Studies Course as the current recipient of the Instappraise Scholarship.  She has proven to be an enthusiastic and skilled student member, who has been a valuable addition to the NAJA community.

Reflecting on her Education experience, Jennifer says:

I am so grateful for the opportunity to grow through the NAJA Appraisal Studies Course. The Certified Member designation has reinforced for me how vital structured, in-depth education is for our profession. With the support of NAJA and the Instappraise Scholarship, I am excited to continue my studies toward Certified Master Appraiser. This course provides the foundation every appraiser needs — building confidence, integrity, and consistency in our work.
